Italmélodie up to 2016 is what used to be the absolute biggest music store in town.
A music gear museum where they had almost everything. Archambault is n-o-w-h-e-r-e close for selection, knowledgeable staff, parts, etc. It now looks like a Canadian Tire Jack-of-all-trades (Definitely Master of none). There used to be a full row for each type of guitars not even including the ones you could order online, now “what’s on the shelf is what we have to offer”. As for one small example, I have not seen one single PRS electric guitar… The Bass section is now shared with the guitar one and has a ridiculously small selection. Generouslt giving one extra star for being very organised and clean compared to what it used to be. Otherwise, Archambault always had normal prices, but what’s the point if the instruments you really want are not there??
Picture below shows their whole electric guitar section as an example. Italmélodie used to have 2 times that amount of selection just in their “glassed collector” section. I rarely write reviews, but this is disappointing.
Bring back Italmélodie.
