I was recommended this pharmacy by a pharmacist in another city. I was eager to go there, but in the end, quite disappointed. At its core, it’s a good pharmacy. It carries excellent generic brands and fills prescriptions quickly and the retail staff there are always very friendly. If that’s what you’re going for in a pharmacy, it’s not a bad choice. There are better options even in this regard from filling prescriptions elsewhere just so I didn’t have to deal with the usually-rude pharmacy assistants.
However, I go to independents for friendly pharmacy staff who try to get to know you and who are consistently friendly and helpful. I haven’t had this experience at all. Except for the one pharmacist (fella with the curly brown hair), their staff aren’t especially friendly whatsoever and make no attempt to get to know you. It’s what you’d expect from a big chain pharmacy and quite frankly, I’ve been treated FAR better at the big chain pharmacies in town. In fact, I’m transferring to a chain pharmacy, which is a first for me. I also find that the staff tends to be FAR friendlier to Francophones than Anglophones. Francophone residents need a pharmacy without language barriers, but that said, don’t treat Anglophones any differently. I’m new to Sudbury, so I’m unsure if it’s located in a French Canadian neighbourhood. I can speak French, but not especially well. I don’t need it to be very rudely corrected by one of the pharmacy assistants. Heck, I was only trying to pronounce my last name in the French way, as the Anglicised version that I’ve used my entire life wasn’t understood several times and corrected EVERY time. This is wholly unacceptable. I started to only use the English version just to show that this is what I’ve always used and it’s a simple name.
Overall, quite disappointing.
