Seemingly fair priced and open later than some grocery stores. Close to transit and downtown core makes it a great place to pick up food on the way home.

Really hard to social distance. People just don’t. The entrance and exit are the same taking you by the checkouts. Lineup for checkouts snakes to the vegetable fruit area. Had to ask people to move to bag up some plums. Everything is very over priced. I buy fresh meat here as that is more reasonable and doesn’t have me feeling ripped off for living downtown.

Produce is always fresh but they lose stars for the small selection and absolutely rude staff. Every time I go there the staff are at best unfriendly or at worst pretty rude. I don’t particularly enjoy a trip to this store

DISCRIMINATION TOWARD PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

I am an ethnically diverse woman who is suffering from a physical disability. This evening when I entered this location I was approached by a staff member and told I could not enter the facility because of my disability. She explained to me that my mobility aid was not allowed in the store.

I was shocked, appalled, and disgusted by the ignorance of this employee. I explained to them that I was handicapped and that my scooter was not for leisure. Being handicapped is NOT a choice; it is a disability. I had to explain to the employee, I would not stand for discrimination and I would be shopping regardless. The employee didn’t even apologize to me.

Upon checkout the same employee helped me at the till. I asked to speak to a manager. Although the manager apologized, there was still no recognition or apology from the employee.

This type of discrimination is unacceptable ANYWHERE and I would certainly hope a large organization like IGA would have better morals and awareness towards customer diversity. Perhaps management could invest in some training around equity and inclusion.

I would not recommend shopping here.

Great supermarket to get what you need. A little expensive on some single items but they also got good deals on other items. Overall decent spot and staff are helpful.
