In a word, “AWFUL!”. I ordered a miter saw online. Received a call the next day from Rona wanting to know if I was interested in a saw that was previously opened. I said no thank you, I want a brand new, unopened saw. I’m happy to wait.

About a week later, I got a call from the store saying my saw was in. I drove 30 minutes to the store, picked up what I thought was a brand new saw and drove home. When I unpacked it, I started to realize that this was a display model and the box did not include the dust bag, the wrench, or the clamp. Packed it up, drove another hour (there and back) to return it. I was assured that I would receive a new saw as soon as new stock arrived.

Yesterday, I received a call from the store to tell me that my saw had arrived. I couldn’t believe my eyes when they presented the same used saw that I had returned. To add insult to injury, when I reached into the box and picked up the manual to point out that it was a photocopy, I dropped it back into the box that was sitting on the floor. The so-called sales rep snotted me off by saying, “you don’t have to throw it”. I didn’t throw it but what I really don’t have to do is waste any more of my time dealing with snotty, disrespectful, and incompetent sales staff!

Terrible customer service from Steve!! The moment I brought in a return, he looked at the sealed box and told me that he will have to open it and go through it with a fine tooth comb. He wouldn’t take back the return and told me that he would give me a price adjustment as I mentioned that it is on sale at Lowes. He went onto their website and told me that he needs to confirm that it is in stock. After he confirmed that it is in stock, he asked me to drive all the way to Langley for a price correction. I’ve never had so much hassle with trying to do a return at any other hardware store. Never coming back here.

Pretty good store. I usually find what I’m looking for on my own. There should be more people on the floor asking if you need help. None in the door area. They are very helpful if you track someone down to help tho.

Excellent service! First, I phoned to see if items were in stock. The person who answered (Jason?) was so nice & quickly able to check, then give instructions on how to enter the yard, etc. Bought stepping stones & was immediately helped to load. Had lumber cut for a planter. Again, top notch service. I enjoyed my experience at Rona. Even the check out person knew their products and charged the sale price without a tag or me mentioning it. All in all, interacted with four associates, Rona has great customer service.
