Great place! The food is pretty good, and the coffees are off the chart!! There is also a very nice backyard terrace that has beautiful trees, running water and zen decoration.

Every experience I’ve ever had at Santropol has been wonderful (and there have been many)! The staff is always friendly and the vibe inside the restaurant is so warm and comforting. As a student it’s a great place to study or to just get a meal and catch up with a friend. Over the summer when they re-opened during COVID, it was also one of the safest places to go due to their huge garden seating area in the back! Also really appreciate Santropol Roulant’s social initiatives and I always know that my money spent here is going to a great cause.

Nice ambience and decor. Reminded me of the cafe scene in Christchurch post-earthquake with its slightly grungy vintage touches. Some good food options for gluten free peeps and vegans. Can get really busy though waiting for a table.

In a city that changes so often, (new restaurants, cafe’s, shops) it’s hard to find consistent ‘go to’s’. What I love about Santropol is it HASN’T changed since the first time I went there 20 years ago. It’s a magical place fixed in time. As long as they are around, I will be going there!

Quaint personable vegan style eatery in the Plateau area with amazing outdoor seating with sensory delight of flowers, plans, ponds and pets.
Location does have street parking and easy to walk to.
The area allows for great after eat walking as well.
