Even though the selection and the service are good, it’s not the best place to have lunch. 4 our of the 5 times I’ve been there, my lunch has been served cold from the microwave, and two times the salads were too greasy (orzo salad and Greek salad). On the plus side, the vegan options are great (especially the burrito) and you can have a beer after work. But I was left disappointed by the quality and I have decided not to go there anymore.
Also, prices are higher compared to other nearby cafes, bakeshops and catering locations and I do not think it reflects the quality of the food.
Worst lunch ever.
The toasted panini style bread/sandwich that I had gotten was a vegetarian mashed chickpea sandwich. The tag that had described the sandwich was not what was in the sandwich itself. The sandwich was extremely dry – kind of like eating mashed chickpeas off a cardboard box. There was absolutely no condiments in the sandwich such as mayonnaise.
Save yourself the pain and go to Starbucks instead. What a waste of money.
I like this place: the food is good, fast, priced reasonably. I usually take broccoli salad with a meatloaf – yummy! :)
This place definitely relies on a captive audience from the businesses nearby, because both the food and coffee are on the low side of mediocre. Had the Spicy Chicken Sandwich (description: roasted chicken, cheddar cheese, red onion, chipotle mayo, on ciabatta bread), and what I actually received was shredded chicken with bonus gristle and a very loose interpretation of ‘chipotle mayo’, which in this case seemed to mean orange-coloured mayo with no flavour.
Edit: I had to lower my rating because people in our office have given this place many chances, and it’s just continuously disappointing. Our latest disappointments were blueberry lemon scones that are tasteless gummy dough in the middle, and a serving of “chicken curry” so flavourless and sad that it went through 3 people before being thrown, nearly full, into the trash.
Perhaps we have all just been really unlucky in our choices, but this place is not good. Do not go here.
Everyone should try their rose tea latte. It’s heaven. It’s perfection. & that’s just 1 thing on their menu. Their cookies are always perfectly baked. Their scones are fluffy & dense. No bad things ever to say about this place.
