Hi Golden Horseshoe, this is Michelle and I did a totally of 4 surface piercings by Gord. I agree with all the comments in terms of the great work you do, and making people feel comfortable and relaxed before service. However, I’m very disappointed with the follow up and lack of customer service. I’ve been reaching out since Sept 2020, as my tragus piercing has been sticking out from day one. As a result, it gets hitched into things and gets infected often.
I’ve followed all the instructions provided, as well reached out when I had concerns, but I felt I was bothering you, Gord. I requested a smaller jewelry be used instead in hopes to resolve my issue. When we did speak, I was advised a new jewelry would be ordered for me, that was 2 1/2 months ago, and I still haven’t heard back from Golden Horseshoe. I was so concerned with my piercing that I randomly showed up at the shop which is 40 mins from my home. I was very surprised when Gord told me, they are closed and had no time to look at my piercings. Even though prior to, I was calling the shop weekly to have my concerns looked at and addressed. After a month, I showed up to receive the response “I’m sorry, we’re closed now and can’t look at it”
I never received a follow up to book an appointment at Golden Horseshoe’s convenience for a later date to take a look at my piercings. And Gord totally brushed me off and showed no concern or compassion. I actually cried in my car when I was turned away.
I started having issues with my surface piercings on my chest but due to the lack of response from Golden Horseshoe, I decided to take them out instead and let it heal so I can have it redone in the future. I spent roughly $500 on 4 piercings and plan to have more done, but I would like to feel important after the fact. Especially if I have issues with my piercings and looking for expert opinion on what I need to do & recommendations to minimize irritation, from the establishment that did the work. Unfortunately, I had to take out 2 piercings that I feel could have been prevented if my concerns were addressed within a timely manner.
Once again, this doesn’t take away from the work performed – I was totally happy with it and Gord did a great job. It would have been 5 stars if I received better customer service. Hopefully others have not, or will not, be treated like this going forward. Nor feel forced to take piercings out, in fear of bothering and/or annoying the piercer.
