Best strength training atmosphere I’ve seen in Calgary.
Excellent power lifting and strongman / strongwoman training facility. Dedicated plates, bars and platform also there for Olympic style weightlifters.
Personal training services available c/o Calgary Barbell are top notch.
On-site massage therapy available as well. Basic amenities and no-frills change rooms serve their purpose.

Has to be one of the best strongman gyms in all of Alberta, probably Western Canada. Has all the strongman equipment you could dream of. Very close to what heaven must be like.

I went into The Strength Edge from a Reddit recommendation, but what stuck out was that everyone had a great attitude. In the past I had bad experiences at Goodlife and was unhappy with the gyms provided by The City of Calgary. I also wanted 24/7 access.

The idea of a staffless gym is odd but you get used to it quick. When applying you will be shown around, no worries there.

In addition to the membership, I started personal training there provided by Calgary Barbell. I am so glad I did. I had a professional show me proper form proper breathing and a routine that fits my goals.

If you’re used to the shiny look of franchise gyms, this will be a big change as it was for me, but I’ll never go back.

This is the coolest gym I’ve ever been to, hands down. The graffitied walls, friendly members, and variety of strength equipment all contribute to making this place what it is.
It’s not a place for the average gym goer or someone that doesn’t take their training seriously. But at the same time, the people here know how to have fun, joke around, and there’s a genuine sense of community.

A great strength gym with everything you need. It even has cardio equipment. Not to mention the super friendly and nice people there! I felt welcomed from the first visit.
