They sent me the wrong pprs

The best priced home insurance quote they could give me was $4,000 annually! I immediately called a competing broker, who found me coverage for $1245 annually. Unbelievable!! Stay away if you care about price. Especially since the role of a broker is just that.

They’re a mess. Especially home and auto insurance. They may have “better rates for teachers” (they really don’t – check your alumni affiliation from university) but they are very unorganized, uninformative, dishonest and overall a poor organization unfortunately.

It’s a personal insurance plan offered through my employer, and all claims are submitted online in my case. No idea why Google is asking me to rate this business “location”.

I’m a teacher and assumed I would be able to add my husband onto my benefits plan quite seamlessly. After returning from our wedding during a pandemic, adding him onto my benefits plan was not the first thing on my mind and I didn’t complete the online process (simply adding his name) within the allotted time frame (31 days post marriage).

I called and spoke to an agent who then sent me some paper work for him to complete. After doing so, I mailed it in. When asked why I had to do this/if I could speak to someone else/simply change my wedding date to avoid all the paper work I was met with a hostile, accusatory tone asking why I would need/want to do this.

A month or so later I received two more surveys to complete about his mental health surveys. I did not receive any paperwork stating where to send these. After calling and verifying, I was told where to mail it and to watch my email because if I didn’t respond they would cancel my “case” assuming I no longer wanted him on my coverage?

I’m so disappointed in process and hoops O-tip has made us jump through for missing a 31 day window in the midst of a global pandemic. They also said he will have limited coverage for a year because of my late admission of his information. He’s not in any desperate need of care I just can’t see a correlation between the late admission and this paper work/limited coverage.
